I was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland for many years in the 1980s, studying violin with Peter Mountain and piano with Dr. Barry Cooper (the renowned Beethoven scholar) whilst at Aberdeen University. I have a DipABRSM in Violin Performance (2004) and a DipABRSM in Piano Teaching (2011). I teach the piano in Northwood and Kings Langley and have a special interest in tension-related problems  in musicians.

I also regularly play chamber music and have performed many piano trios/quartets/quintets, string quartets, sextets and octets over the years in various venues. I have performed in chamber music concerts with top-class professional musicians such as Simon Mulligan (concert pianist), Ronnie Birks (violinist, ex-Lindsays), Ian Anderson (ex-London Mozart Players) and   Mary-Jane de Havas (mezzo soprano).

I have also much experience accompanying, including playing regularly for Eurythmy classes at the Rudolf Steiner School in Kings Langley and accompanying for ABRSM exams. I have also accompanied (informally) the international operatic baritone Evgueniy Alexiev whilst on holiday in the South of France in 2011.

I am a member of the European Piano Teachers Association.
