What is KINESIS MYOFASCIAL integration?

Kinesis Myofascial Integration is a form of Structural Integration that aims to realign the physical structure of the body by using soft-tissue manipulation and movement re-education. By changing the tensional balance in the muscles and fascia, it can encourage better posture, increase flexibility and movement and also help alleviate aches and pains. It allows the body to move in an integrated way, working with gravity rather than against it.

Over a period of time, due to misuse, occupation, sedentary habits, physical trauma, poor nutritional habits, emotional distress, habitual stress and tension or simply imitation of our parents or peers, postural patterns that reflect these habits are formed.  The body requires structural stability and so it does its best to compensate and adapt. This leads to a thickening of the tissues, restrictions in movement and function, often resulting in pain.

A restriction in one part can affect other areas of the body. Therefore, pain is often felt in a different part of the body to the actual source of the problem.
