Connective Tissue

Dr. Ida Rolf called connective tissue, the “organ of structure”. It is continuous throughout the body from head to toe and from superficial to deep. It includes: tendons, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels, fascial wrappings around organs, fascial wrappings around muscles and the outermost layer, the superficial fascia.

The condition of the connective tissue in the body determines how efficiently forces can be transmitted across the body and how the various of body segments (e.g. head, neck, shoulder girdle) relate to each other. By manipulating the connective tissue and muscles, we can change the shape of our bodies and be more in harmony with gravity.

Kinesis Myofascial Integration proceeds from a deep understanding of “issues in tissues” and will not only release muscular holding, but also free and reposition the fascial fabric so that improved movement patterns can be re-integrated.
